Meet Marissa – Owner, Dog Walker/Handler, and Lifelong Animal Lover

Marissa is the proud owner of Marissa’s Mutts and has been running her business for over five years. She is a seasoned Dog Walker and Handler, Pet CPR Certified, fully insured, and an Official Happy Ratters Judge. With extensive hands-on experience in the pet care industry, Marissa has built a reputation for reliability, knowledge, and genuine passion.

Born and raised in Rockland, Marissa’s love for animals started at a young age. After gaining valuable experience working in several dog daycares, she took a leap and launched her own business in 2019. Since then, she has dedicated herself to continually learning, growing, and perfecting her craft. Her commitment to her clients—and their dogs—shines through in everything she does.

At home, Marissa’s crew includes her seven-year-old cat Calvin, her beloved Basset Hound/Beagle mix Monty, and her newest addition, a Boarder Collie, Midnight, who has quickly become part of the family. Marissa and Monty spend much of their free time competing in Happy Ratters, Scent Work, Fast Cat, Barn Hunt, and GRC, always seeking new challenges and fun adventures together. Marissa and Midnight get to spend their free time also competing in Happy Ratters, Scent Work, Barn Hunt, GRC, Agility, and even Dock Diving and Dog Dancing!

Outside of her work with animals, Marissa enjoys spending quality time with her boyfriend, Gary. Their weekends often involve traveling to different states for dog competitions, working events, or attending seminars to continue expanding their knowledge and skills in the pet world. Like many devoted pet parents, Marissa sees her dogs as her heart and soul, and she cherishes every moment with them.

In addition to daily dog care, Marissa pours love into crafting her own homemade organic dog treats—made fresh for your pups. She’s also thrilled to be operating The Magic Drool Bus, offering Wedding Services, and attending Food Truck Events to bring tasty treats and fun experiences to pet lovers across the area.

Above all, Marissa treats every client dog as if they were her own. Her passion, dedication, and wholehearted love for animals are the foundation of Marissa’s Mutts, and she’s honored to care for each furry friend who becomes part of her extended family.
